"When the Coach Moves On, God Stays Put”
let me talk to you straight from the heart. No polish. No podium. Just Sugar Bear and the Cyclone community God is Love" We love because he first loved us.”
To the players, parents, students, alumni, and all those who are" Once a Cyclone always a Cyclone".
This Ames family that bleeds cardinal and gold. Taking God out of the picture leads to people serving and living for what they call love of man rather than for God and His real love.
Today hits hard. I know it does. Change always finds a way to knock you off balance, especially when it involves someone who poured so much of himself into this place. Coach Campbell leaving isn’t just a headline it shifts the rhythm, the routine, the heartbeat of Ames and the entire Cyclone fan base.
But hear me… we’ve been here before. Injuries. Staff moves. Tough stretches. High moments. Depth chart surprises. Seasons that tested us and seasons that lifted us. And every single time, those who are once a Cyclone and always a Cyclone have adapted, anchored, and risen. That’s who we are. That’s what we do.
Scripture reminds us that seasons turn, leaders rise and move on, and life keeps flowing like the sun rising and setting. God is the One who stays steady. God is the One who doesn’t shift when everything else does.
And let me speak plainly about Coach Campbell: his love for this community has always been real, steady, deep. What he built here doesn’t leave with him. His teaching is still in our bones. His standard lives in our habits. His belief is stitched into our spirit.
Now we flex up. We welcome Jimmy Rogers a Mid westerner coach who needs our unity, our Iowa Nice, our passion, our noise, our heart. This is our moment to show him what The Cyclones are made of and what it means to stand among those who are" once a Cyclone and always a Cyclone.
And Coach Campbell… this part is personal. Much love, Coach. You’ve been a brother to me in every Proverbs sense a friend who loves at all times. Loyal love. Steady faithfulness. A bond deeper than the game. Thank you for letting me walk beside you, for trusting my voice, and for letting our friendship be woven into wisdom for the student athletes
into this Cyclone journey. My respect for you isn’t tied to a title—it’s tied to the man you are.
Cyclone Nation… seasons change. Coaches move. But God stays put. And He’s already preparing the next chapter. My friend Coach Campbell You your family will always be in my prayers!much brotherly
Sugar Bear
So flex up, all who are Cyclones ,Are you ready- Mr Rogers is coming!
Sugar Bear is ready.
God bless you and this ministry!
Closing updated Testimony!
Politics is nasty and sometimes it shows up in athletics too. People talk fast, twist stories, and push their own narratives. So when somebody throws out a big claim, on either side, always ask:
“Why are you saying this now?”
That question protects you from the 5 p's of polarization.
Pundits • Politicians • Professors • Preachers • Performers
Here’s the truth most folks never slow down long enough to see:
The 5 P’s are fueling the noise.
On the left.
On the right.
Everywhere in between.
Pundits shout for ratings.
Politicians posture for power.
Professors protect their ideologies.
Preachers guard their tribes.
Performers chase attention and applause.
Different costumes.
Same script.
Same noise.
Same propaganda.
They stir fear, not faith.
They inflame emotions, not understanding.
They sell certainty, not humility.
They teach us to react, not to reflect.
And if you listen long enough, their voices start sounding spiritual even though none of them are the Holy Spirit.
The Sugar Bear lesson?
If the volume of the 5 P’s is louder than the voice of God, you will lose your peace, your discernment, and your compassion for people who disagree with you.
Because polarization doesn’t begin in Washington or Hollywood.
It begins inside the human heart—when we let the 5 P’s shape our identity instead of Christ shaping our character.
The antidote?
Slow down.
Seek truth.
Test every spirit.
Refuse the propaganda.
Listen for the quiet voice of God beneath the chaos of the world.
The 5 P’s want you outraged.
Jesus wants you grounded.
The 5 P’s want you tribal.
Jesus wants you transformed.
The 5 P’s want you divided.
Jesus wants you devoted to truth, to love, to humility, and to the ministry of reconciliation.
The world is full of propaganda loud opinions with no truth behind them or somethingto hide
. That’s why wisdom matters from Scripture
"The first to plead his case seems right,
until another comes and examines him.”
Proverbs 18:17
The first loud voice often sounds right — but only until the facts come out.
This is exactly how propaganda works:
fast, confident, one-sided claims with no examination.
God warns us to slow down, check both sides, and seek truth.
And remember this truth I’ve learned myself:
“Your behavior is caught more than taught.”
People watch how you carry yourself, not just what you say.
And another truth that hit me hard as a man:
“Responsibility begins the moment we stop blaming the world and start shaping it.”
That’s leadership. That’s maturity. That’s The Process.
And trust me
I know my own flaws.
I’ve done things that remind me I can be a control freak.
That’s why I’m telling you this with humility, not judgment.
Even during Watergate, President Nixon said:
“People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I’m not a crook.” Richard Nixon (1973)
Because truth matters—even when the noise gets wild.
And that’s why Braver Angels is important.
It teaches you to slow down, ask real questions, listen deeply, check the facts, and see the person behind the opinion. It keeps you grounded in truth, not noise. It builds the kind of character Coach Campbell believed in.
And when the world gets too loud?
Close your eyes.
Quiet your mind.
Focus on Heaven.
Let God settle the storms people try to start. And Give it to God and go to sleep
