GOD! Your Wisdom Awakens Me Everyday even in the Midst of Slavery to Sin!

" What Is Your Matthew 28:19–20 as a Volunteer?"
Serendipitous Thoughts by Sugar Bear
I woke up this morning having surrendered everything to God the night before, still wondering how to explain the many places
I volunteer and why ,mentoring athletes, serving with OLLI, walking with families through hospice, engaging neighbors through Braver Angels and bible study fellowship with men.
The question pressing my spirit was not how busy am I, but why do I keep showing up? Why the terrain of vulnerability?
So I praise the Lord with lifted worship and a settled heart because He reminds me, “Do not grow weary in doing good” (Galatians 6:9). Weariness is real.
The issue is not whether we feel it, but how we respond when it comes.
Jesus answers clearly: “Go therefore and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19–20). That is the assignment. Not applause. Not outcomes. Disciples.
I do not volunteer for gain, money, or recognition. I serve because I believe what Scripture declares that I have received power because the Holy Spirit has come upon me.
Once enslaved to sin, I am now free in Christ, not to serve myself, but to serve others in love (Galatians 5:13).
Christian freedom is not independence; it is joyful obedience.
As a co-lead in many rooms, I carry the posture of an Ambassador for Christ. Yet I have felt the silence when help is requested and no one responds. You can almost hear fear breathing. In those moments, Jesus’ words return: “I am sending you out as sheep among wolves be wise as serpents and innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16).
Wisdom without manipulation. Innocence without retreat.
Scripture speaks through paradox. Paul writes, “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10). Paul pleaded for his thorn to be removed, but God offered grace instead. Strength, Paul learned, is not the absence of weakness—it is Christ’s power resting upon it.
That truth meets me in volunteer fatigue, rejection, misunderstanding, and quiet rooms. I serve anyway not fearless, but faithful. Like a rose pushing through concrete cracks, I trust God grows fruit where obedience looks fragile and unseen.
So I ask again: Sugar Bear, what is your Matthew 28:19–20?
It is to go, love, serve, and speak until everyone has heard because Jesus loves me, and I am a Christian witness. We are about the business of the Kingdom the good news, making disciplesnot our own comfort or recognition. Let it be a hallelujah, not because the work is easy, but because the mission is holy.
That is why I am an Ambassador for Christ sent, sustained, and strengthened by grace, even in weakness. I love you Jesus and you just as you Are!
God bless you and this ministry!
