 Serendipitous Thoughts by Sugar Bear

“Encouraging Engaging Passion—Never Give Up!”
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” — Psalm 56:3
There are mornings when I wake up uncertain whom I’ll meet or how I’ll serve—but one thing I know: I’m going to make someone’s day great. I may not know the who or the how, but I know the why. God calls us to live with intention, not hesitation—to be deliberate lights in a distracted world.
Each sunrise is training camp. Train to be clutch. Before work, school, practice, or fixing breakfast, pause and write:
• Two ways I will improve today.
• One person whose day I will make great.
This small act of reflection sets your compass. It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. When you live intentionally, your faith becomes visible. Passion grows when purpose meets practice.
Fear may come, but so will faith. Psalm 56:3 reminds us that trust redirects fear into strength. So be deliberate in kindness. Be consistent in compassion. Be specific in encouragement. Be the change that turns complaints into courage.
And here’s the heartbeat of it all—you see, we have Jesus.
When storms rise and fear whispers, Jesus steadies our hearts. We don’t walk alone. We stand on His promise, not our performance. Because of Jesus, courage isn’t wishful thinking—it’s divine confidence clothed in humility and hope.
On my" Jesus Business card", in bold letters, are the words: “You are loved.” Beneath it—Isaiah 41:10:
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”
Below that, my name—Ron “Sugar Bear” McFarland—along with my blog (rmcfarl.blogspot.com) and email (mcdogdaddy@aol.com).
At the top of the card, you’ll see the name “Sugar Bear.” It’s more than a nickname—it’s a story. When people read my card, they smile, and I know it’s because of the name. That smile opens a door. I get to tell them that Sugar Bear isn’t just a football name—it’s a faith name.
Once it meant strength on the field; now it means service in the Kingdom. It’s my reminder that God can redeem any name, any story, and any heart—and use it for His glory.
That card isn’t just contact information—it’s a covenant. A reminder that I’m called to live as a brotherly servant Christian, intentional in belief, thought, and action. Because what we practice, we become. And who we become can start tidal waves of influence that echo Christ’s love across hearts and generations.
So let me ask you—how is Jesus messing with you?
How is He stirring your heart, challenging your comfort zone, or nudging you toward something greater? Because Jesus doesn’t just show up to bless us—He shows up to transform us. And transformation always comes with a holy disruption.
Who is your Sugar Bear?
Prayer:
“Lord, train my heart to be clutch—steady, selfless, and strong. Let me encourage passionately, love intentionally, and live as Your tidal wave of grace in someone’s life today. Thank You, Jesus, for being my unshakable hope, my reason to never give up, and yes—thank You for still messing with me. Amen.”
God bless you and this ministry!

“Faith Meets Relationships: God’s Still Working on Me”
I’m a seed still breaking through the soil. Some of my words fall like rain, others sting like hail. When love is mistaken for correction, I ask the Gardener to water my patience. Every pruning pain still grows new fruit.
John 15:2 says, “Every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
1 Corinthians 13:6 reminds us, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”
Honestly, I think we just need Jesus. When faith meets relationships, something sacred happens. Like children who believe before they understand, we are called to meet others in our 100-foot circle of influence—with courage, compassion, and truth.
(🎵 Start a slow clap chant 🎵)
“I’m not ashamed to be a Christian!”
Sometimes a friend’s response reminds us how fragile understanding can be.
We offer love; they hear criticism. We see care; they see judgment. When that happens, the Spirit whispers,
“Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger” (James 1:19). Wisdom doesn’t rush to prove a point—it pauses to let grace breathe.
Caring for others can feel like carrying a cross. When misunderstood, we stand where Christ stood;silent before His accusers, yet full of love (Isaiah 53:7).
“A friend loves at all times” (Proverbs 17:17). So we keep caring—letting God reshape our compassion through patience and prayer.
It’s like our country’s own divide;the bipartisan polarization that strains neighbor against neighbor. Yet just as the Gardener tends every branch, God calls us to tend relationships across difference.
That’s why groups like Braver Angels work to find common ground sense solutions:
to remind us we grow best in the same soil of humility and hope.
Let’s live with Essential Intentions:
to connect, to let faith breathe, and to clothe ourselves in love (Colossians 3:14). “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). The more we surrender, the deeper our roots grow.
(🎵 Slow clap chant again 🎵)
“All my life, You have been faithful, and I will sing of the goodness of God.” I am not ashamed of leading with Grace and Truth.
Even when life feels like trying to breathe underwater, God said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). Feelings change like weather, but His love sets the atmosphere (1 John 4:10). “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). That’s real love—steady, unseen, unbreakable.
I love this country and all my friends and family!
Prayer:
Lord, create in me a clean heart (Psalm 51:10). When I’m misunderstood, or when my nation divides, soften my words but strengthen my faith. Grow in me the patience that builds bridges and the grace that heals hearts.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God bless you and this ministry!

“Guided by Principles… or Driven by Circumstances?”
I speak this today as a man who knows who I am, whose I am, and whats my "why"
I belong to Jesus Christ bought by His blood, shaped by His mercy, and sent to strengthen others the way He has strengthened me.
Before Jesus ever mentioned storms, winds, or floods, He talked about practice the daily discipline of taking His words and living them.
That truth still wakes me up in the morning. Anybody can hear Scripture. Anybody can admire truth. But principles Christ-shaped, Spirit-forged principles those are what hold you steady when life leans hard on your soul.
Jesus said:
“The one who hears My words and does them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
Matthew 7:24
I’ve learned this the Sugar Bear way:
When Christ is your rock, circumstances lose their authority.
They may shake you, but they will not move you.
Years ago, a young man I was mentoring called me late at night. His confidence was fading, performance slipping, mind scattered. He thought he had a technique problem. But the Spirit showed me what was really happening he wasn’t standing on principles. He was letting circumstances dictate his identity.
Jesus offered him —and still offers us a better path:
“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you…”
John 15:7
Remaining is a principle.
Drifting is a circumstance.
So we recalibrated his anchors:
• God allows nothing today that He will not use for my growth. (Romans 8:28)
• Do your best with what you have where you are.
• Lead with presence, not emotion.
• Let the Spirit shape your steps, not your fears.
• Stay rooted in Christ before you make requests.
• Focus on what’s possible, not what’s missing.
• Speak truth to yourself before the enemy speaks lies.
• Remember:
seasons change — hardship doesn’t last forever.
Circumstances may reveal you.
But principles God-birthed, Spirit-led, Christ-rooted principles establish you.
And before we hung up, the Spirit gave me one line for him, and for you:
“Give it to God… and go to sleep.”
So today, take a quiet moment with the Lord and ask:
“Father, what core principles do You want governing my life from this day forward?”
Write them.
Pray them.
Live them.
Let God form you from the inside out so nothing on the outside can break you.
God bless you, and this ministry!

“Jesus, Take the Keys " My Hard-Fought Hallelujah”
Family of God… let me speak this from a place of truth:
My life has been a hard fought journey of hallelujahs.
Bruised in places, healed in others, but still standing.
And I bring my heart, my mindset this is my story.
A story I can tell only because of the power of Jesus.
For years, I tried steering my own life…
Fear in the passenger seat, pain in the back, pride gripping the wheel.
Trying not to crash. Trying not to lose myself.
But one day I whispered the words that turned my whole journey around:
“Jesus, take the keys. You drive now. I surrender it all. Unashamed.”
And like Matthew 19:26 declares,
“With God all things are possible.”
From that moment on, He took over…
and the impossible started shifting into purpose.
Tupac wrote in The Rose That Grew from Concrete:
“Reach for the stars so if you fall you land on a cloud.”
And that line reminds me that even when we fall politically, personally, spiritually
Christ is the cloud beneath us,
grace catching what pride would have shattered.
As a member walking in the Braver Angels Way, I’ve learned this:
Our country doesn’t need more shouting;
it needs more listening.
More dignity.
More respect.
More common ground sense from people willing to say:
“My faith is bigger than my politics.”
“My neighbor is not my enemy.”
“Love gets the last word.”
If God could turn Joseph’s pit into purpose (Genesis 50:20),
He can turn America’s division into dialogue.
He can turn rhetoric into relationship.
He can turn contempt into compassion.
And right here… is where your heart meets your healing.
The Word says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
So let me challenge you today:
Hand Jesus the keys of your heart…
and the keys of your conversations.
Let Him shape your tone.
Let Him guard your words.
Let Him guide our healing.
Be a peacemaker.
Be a bridge builder.
Be a son or daughter of Sunday every day.
Because every day is a gift from God,
a sunrise wrapped in mercy…
and a chance to live out your own hard-fought hallelujah.
This is Sugar Bear…
