Serendipitous Thoughts by Sugar Bear: “What Am I Missing?”
I woke up this morning asking, "What am I missing?" Not from doubt—but from hunger. A holy ache. As a child of God—redeemed not by platform, but by grace—I belong to Jesus Christ. I live to serve Him, walking in truth, anchored in love.
Still, I’m curious. Every time the King is in the room, I get stirred up.
"When you're curious, you need to know."
So I ask: “You want us to do what, Jesus?”
Then I hear Him say, as He said to Peter:
“Get behind Me”—just in case we’re forgetting the mission.
And what is the mission?
It’s simple. It’s sacred. It’s this:
To seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). To make disciples who live and love like Jesus (Matthew 28:19–20).
But Church—we’re quoting Scripture without a clear path. We proclaim the Great Commission, but we’re building ministries without a daily plan to disciple.
So let me say this gently, but boldly:
Be strong in the Lord—and take your time in prayer.
Don’t rush the work of the Spirit. Don’t substitute motion for mission.
Let this be the day we confront the “broken things.”
The day we observe, listen, and humbly ask:
"Lord, what have we skipped over in our urgency to look effective?"
As Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:2:
“What you have heard from me… entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.”
So whether you're a pastor, teacher, usher, mechanic, or mom—this mission is yours.
Start small: one conversation, one commitment, one disciple at a time.
What am I missing?
Maybe it’s the still, small whisper:
"You’re loved. You’re called. You’re not too late. Get back to the mission."
A Closing Prayer:
Lord, rekindle our hearts for what matters. Help us to slow down, seek You, and obey with joy. May our church be a place of truth, love, and daily discipleship. In Jesus’ name, amen.
God bless you—and this ministry!
