Serendipitous Thoughts by Sugar Bear
“New Day, New Light”
"Stay faithful, keep shining"Holy Spirit, is there a deeper lesson I'm not seeing?"
If Christ has not been raised, our faith is in vain.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:14 (ESV)
When there’s a new day, there’s new light. And when I’ve rested well, slept in peace, and rise with breath in my lungs, I whisper, “Thank You, Jesus.” That quiet peace at dawn isn’t earned—it’s given. And when the day is done, if I’ve walked in the Spirit, even through struggle, I can rest again in that same peace.
But one afternoon just recently, my peace was interrupted. I was in a deep conversation with a self-declared atheist. He was bright, bold, and bitter. His question hit hard: “How can you believe a man came back from the dead?”
I took a breath, prayed under my breath, and leaned into the Word. I told him, “I believe because the evidence points to an empty tomb and transformed lives.”
1 Corinthians 15:14 says, “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” But Paul wasn’t speaking metaphorically. He pointed to 500 eyewitnesses of the resurrected Christ—many still alive at the time. No tomb was ever venerated. No body was ever found. The stone was rolled away, the guards were bribed, and frightened disciples became fearless preachers.
History changed.
Even skeptical historians like Bart Ehrman acknowledge that “something happened.” And I say, “Yes, something eternal.”
That conversation didn’t end in conversion, but it deepened my resolve. Not to win arguments—but to walk as a faithful warrior. In truth. In grace. In the power of resurrection.
Every new morning is a chance to live in resurrection light. If death didn’t defeat Him, nothing will defeat you.
So sleep in peace. Rise in joy. Walk as one who knows the tomb is empty, and your hope is full.
God bless you and this ministry!
